“Hypnagogia” at Seattle-Tacoma Airport
Baso Fibonacci and Alex Sandvoss collaborated with Tieton Mosaic on this mural for a comfort room in the Alaska Airlines Terminal B. Fibonacci’s forest background was directly applied in the Tieton residency studio. Each piece of glass was fired to plump and round the shapes to eliminate sharp edges. Sandvoss’s deer were originally painted in oil paint and translated in glass enamel by Winsor Fire Form onto five silhouetted shapes. These were mounted on top of the mosaic background. The final mural is six-feet tall by eight-feet wide.
